Commissioner Brumfield has served on several Solano County’s community based and non-profit boards in leadership roles. Immediate Past President of the Solano County (CA) Chapter of the Links, Incorporated – 2nd Vice President NorCal Region -The National Council of Negro Women, Inc. -one of the nation's oldest and largest volunteer service organizations dedicated to enriching, sustaining, and ensuring the culture and economic survival of African Americans Women and persons of African ancestry. -Solano County Agency on Aging Advisory Council. Sustainable Solano, Solano County Library Foundation. In addition to her leadership, Commissioner Brumfield is a member of the Solano/Napa Chapter of Black Women Organized for Political Action (BWOPA). She also actively serves on its Political Action Committee (PAC), where she contributes to the organization's mission of educating, motivating, and supporting Black women in the political process, developing strategies to address injustices faced by Black women, and advocating for social and political equity within the Black community.
Commissioner Brumfield retired from the California Department of Corrections as an Associate Warden after 28 years of service.
Commissioner Nguyen's humble beginnings took her from the streets of San Diego as a television reporter to walking the halls at the State Capitol in Sacramento. In 2021, Supervisor Mashburn appointed Jacqui to the SCWG representing district 5. Jacqui currently serves on the SCWG Executive Committee Co-chair of Programs. In 2024, Jacqui was elected as trustee to be on the governing board of the Solano Community College proudly representing Vacaville, Dixon, and Winters.
In her current role as Press Secretary at the California State Legislature, she interfaces with the Capitol Press Corps and helps to shape messaging. Jacqui has been working with the Asian American community since 2015 and has formed strong and meaningful working relationships with key Asian American organizations in California.
Jacqui was chapter president for the Sacramento chapter of the Asian Pacific Islander American Public Affairs Association (APAPA) and now serves in an advisory role. She currently serves as 1st Vice President for the Asian Pacific State Employees Association (APSEA).
Jacqui began her career in politics and public service in San Diego. Back in 2014, she was recruited to work on a Congressional District campaign as a Field Representative, which included outreach to promote civic engagement in the Asian American community and serve as a liaison with the Asian American press on behalf of the candidate.

Commissioner Staking has a PhD in Women's Studies and a Master's degree in Art History (University of Maryland). She has taught and tutored at all levels:K-graduate school. Her mother and her daughter have also had teaching careers, as well as her sister, niece and nephew. She has traveled and lived in many places in the world with her husband, Kim, and their two children. Presently her life is greatly enriched through volunteering in her church and local community and by seeing the world through the eyes of her 3 beloved grandchildren.
As an educator for 35 years, Commissioner Eckhoff had the pleasure of teaching grades 2nd-6th and serving as a school site and central office administrator, in three states and overseas for the Department of Defense. Since 2015, she has managed early learning programs at the Solano County Office of Education. Originally from Florida and relocated with her husband when he was assigned to Utah, Italy, and now California, with the United States Air Force. She has lived in California just over 20 years and very much enjoy life with her daughter and three grandsons.
